Testimonials

(I would like to sincerely thank those who have made the following posts/comments throughout the years. It was an honor to earn your respect and your kind words are greatly appreciated.)

… you know they are fast when the other team is complaining about Dave Cilio starting mid-field. The other general said that it was inhumanly possible to already be at their base 2 minutes and 20 seconds into the game. When I heard about it… i already knew it was dave even before they told me a name. He is not a human at all but a machine. I will go as far to say that he is one of the best players in all of scenario paintball.

The big fish in your small pond may not recognize the name “Dave Cilio” now…but you will fear it after the game. My first paintball game was still with oil-based paintballs, and I’ve played scenario paintball since the first one ever produced in Florida by Wayne Dollack and our team, Marion’s Raiders, and I can tell you this with no question… Dave Cilio is the most effective scenario player I have ever seen on the field.

Topic: “Top players”

Dave Cilio is a machine… plain and simple. He is so cool he doesn’t even need a call sign! :-) Seriously though, he is like a barracuda. Day or night he moves deliberately and efficiently, does what he needs to do and moves on to the next task.

Topic: “Player that interests or impacts you most”

I have to go with Dave Cilio. Way back when… when I first started playing scenarios seriously… and lived on the East Coast… Dave was one of the first people I started talking to through the internet. He took the time to help prepare me and my young team for our first mqjor event and then he was right there with the rest of Knightmare Tango to offer encouragement and advice along the way. I didn’t even know at the time (although I quickly learned) that I was learning from one of the best there was. Dave has influenced, not only how I try to impact a game, but my desire to teach new players and help new teams as he once did for me.

Every time I looked outside the door, there was this camo-colored blur of motion in the staging area moving toward the insertion point. I would tell Pacman, “There goes Knightmare Tango.” Ten minutes later, I would see outside the window the entire team moving along the netting toward the enemy base, and would tell Pacman, “Knightmare Tango’s on their way to attack the base.” After a couple of hours of this, it became one of those smile-and-shake-your-head kind of things. Then, frequently I would report to Pacman,, “Knightmare Tango just took that mission on the other end of the field.

You fellas earn the recognition you receive, and are bar-none among the best representatives of scenario teams in the industry. Carry on.

And you don’t know Dave Cilio? I guarantee most do. He and his former team, Knightmare Tango have been profiled many times in all the major magazines. He is continuing to write paintball history on ThunderStruck. But you couldn’t pick up any paintball mag for several years without seeing a pic of Dave and/or KT in it. Dave is THE MAN… but we knew this before you took a poll! He was here when the game began (almost literally) and still skools people like it ain’t no thing!

That he does Man! In my 22+ years of playing if I had to pic one iconic individual that demonstrates all the moral and social attributes that define what a player should be It would be Dave! There is a big man in that 5′6″ frame!

Topic: Top players and teams

As for Top Players, I can remember being at a few games at EMR and watching the Best team in paintball, Knightmare Tango tear a$$ off. Dave Cilio is a great choice and I have to say one of the best players I have ever seen. Hands DOWN.

Dave is seriously no joke. The guy just keeps coming at you and won’t stop, think of him as the Terminator of paintball. and not in a bad way(wiping), but in the aggressive attack at all costs.

Have you ever run against a team like Knightmare Tango?
i just want to clear up who knightmare tango is, in simple terms they WERE GODS!!!! they were a team of only 5 people taking the field with 3-4 people per game, these 3-4 people did more in their games then most groups of 50 people, however they have since broken up check out their website which is still up http://www.ktpaintball.com/main.htm

of the members of knightmare tango i know at least 2 of them are currently on Thunderstuck, including Dave Cilio, who i have had the honor and privilage of playing with, i was the aid to the general for that game, i must say he was amazing, i have played against and with some top notch scenario teams and after seeing and hearing the havok he created that game i must say i would rather go up against the entire team of blues crew (30+people) with full pod packs and hoppers and me with only a pump then going up against dave and knightmare tango

Chibbs (Team Voodoo)

I still can’t comprehend how you guys cause so much damage with a small unit. I guess training and aggressiveness really goes a long way.

Topic: “Best Team”

I remember Knightmare Tango…..And yes..they were a 3-5 man killa crew…

they would go out and just go to town..hardcore to the bone….
definitely deserve a place of honor..

I dunno how many remember them…

…but Knightmare Tango. I gotta put them on the list even though they have disbanded. They were a three-five man wrecking crew that just tore their opponents. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more hardcore, somewhat friendly ;-) , and coordinated team out there - or such a destructive one for so few guys.

Daeorn (Captain for the Midnight Raiders)

Topic: Judge Dredd 2009 game

On a side note, anything you’ve heard about Dave Cilio is true. The guy is a freaking animal. He is just on a whole different plane of existence. It was great fun to be able to play alongside him for a change and not be on the receiving end. In the end, we over-ran their base one more time for good measure in the final moments of the game.
